Symantec clients not updating definitions
We did some checking on custom client policies and they had policies that where deployed to these servers with the software updates selection not checked.The client has changed that customer client policies for their servers and now the servers are all getting definitions.When the endpoint client updates via Config Mgr it using the Software update component piece of the Config Mgr Client.
They call all ping the SEPM server but for some reason, some workstations are not getting the latest virus def. On the smc-server-0.log, I noticed a bunch of errors: SEVERE: Error while extracting full content under c:\program files\symantec\symantec endpoint protection manager\tomcat\..\inetpub\content\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\xxxxxxxx\Full What else can I check to see what's causing the communication problems?I have provided links to the Microsoft KB’s for you.I will give you a high level reason why at this client they where getting these errors.Updating the antimalware definitions in FEP/SCEP fails with error 0x80248014. Clicking the Update button in the System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection client user interface fails with error 0x8024402c.



To resolve this issue manually change this setting.
